This blog is not so much about art directly as it is about the art of living and noticing our world in a way that will get us to the end of our lives having actually seen it. Each post, in the beginning, will explore aspects of why we see the way we do to what we can do to enhance our casino online abilities to embrace bestenorskecasinos.com or conjure new points of view if online slots we choose.  Also, what gets in our way of seeing from a different perspective? I have some thoughts as to how we can “gather” more ways of seeing and why that is so important in today’s world.

7. The Power of a Question

A compelling question creates movement in this universe of ours. That…I know for sure. From the many notes and journals I’ve kept over the years something of a gift emerged. Writing was a way of reconciling some of my own questions, and, as always, creating many new ones which, naturally, became the catalyst for new thoughts and again, more questions. It’s a crazy, cool loop to be caught up in…the whole curiosity thing. The aha was realizing, years ago, the power of curiosity and the perturbation of energy created by wonder. Ask a question and things start moving.

My goal became make every effort to live in the question, to go beyond just noticing differences and distinctions to actually going in search of them. I believe that is a real key to expanding understanding. Pursuing the differences in people, in cultures, in opinions or ideas is a big piece to becoming more of who you are…pushing the envelope of growing your own understanding and challenging your own assumptions. The hierarchy of events that move us to a more enlightened way of perceiving our world, other people, casino online cultures casino online and events is casino online this…or partly this:

 First we notice the “it” thing that is ‘different”in however many ways we determine that.

Maybe we then accept online casino those differences. Still that’s not enough.

Hopefully we get to a place of valuing the differences for what they bring us. That’s a bit better.

But the big shift is when we go looking for that which is different because we have realized that is where the real learning is.

We don’t learn much from someone who is just like us…who thinks or sees just like us.

Curiosity about she who is not me, about they who are not us. That is the linchpin to discovering, on some level, what it means to be ourselves as human. Our teachers are the ‘they’ who become mirrors of our own being, the ‘they’ to whom we are connected at some particle level…some energetic level…as different or as weird as we may perceive them to be….not like us.

What matters is the seeking, the noticing and asking.  If by learning to perceive from a place of inquiry…what if, why not, what now…and if that inquiry results in a new perspective and rearranges your reality a bit, you have changed your world…and tangentially “the” world. You have created something pretty cool. Truthfully, we have only to make the smallest move or hold a new thought and we play a part in rearranging the particles of the Universe. I love that part.

6. Noticing life between the lines…

We are, most of us, trapped in an ‘if this, then that’ kind of seeing modality.a what you see is what you get way of observing the world. But, we know that “this” is not always followed by a clearly defined “that”. We know things aren’t always what they seem.  So why do some of us tend to take things at surface value and never get to a place of asking.wait a minute.how else can I look at this? ‘What else could it be’, if this, then what else? If this, then why not that?

3. Why we should car about how we see our world.

In my first post, I discussed the What if Factor and how I came to create an exercise that explored seeing the world in extra-ordinary ways. The images you see here are the result of that process.  You can see in these collages that there are very few actual human parts but our minds easily translate an egg for a head, spinach for hair and seaweed for fingers as perfectly comprehensible.

2. Seeing the ordinary in extraordinary ways

How I arrived at these images and the exercise of What if?

Awhile back I was creating a process for a group of corporate executives attending an “innovation’ retreat. The goal was that by the end of the day, they would have learned to see the world in new ways…with new eyes or beginners eyes. The seminar I was designing spoke to curiosity, noticing, perception, intuitive intelligence and “syntropic” influences in manifesting something from nothing. As well, I hoped to question our relationship to all things and encourage the idea of conscious noticing as a path to growing our options in the world.  As an artist, creating art as metaphor and demonstration seemed a natural vehicle to get my points across.
